Data we collect
We process identity data you submit for verification — such as names, dates of birth, phone numbers, identification numbers (for example BVN or NIN), facial images, and verification results — as well as account and contact details you provide when you use our website, dashboard, or APIs. We also collect limited technical data such as request logs and device information for security and reliability.
How we use data
We use personal data to provide identity verification services, prevent fraud, maintain the security of our systems, comply with legal obligations, and communicate with you about your account. We do not sell personal data.
Legal basis and compliance
We process data in line with applicable data protection laws, including Nigeria's Data Protection Act and NDPR framework where applicable, and GDPR principles for data relating to individuals in regions where it applies. Verification checks are performed on the basis of contractual necessity, legal obligation, and legitimate interests in fraud prevention.
Data sharing
Verification requests are checked against authoritative sources and licensed data providers (for example aggregators for BVN and NIN records). We share data with these providers only to the extent necessary to complete a verification you requested, and with infrastructure providers bound by confidentiality obligations.
Retention and security
Verification data is retained only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, for audit and compliance, and as required by law. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to authorised personnel, and verification activity is logged for audit.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Verification customers (businesses) remain responsible for handling requests from their own end users — contact them in the first instance if you were verified through one of our customers.
Cookies
Our website and dashboard use strictly necessary cookies for authentication, security, and remembering preferences such as theme. We do not use advertising trackers.
